Hydrotherapy- Exercise... Without pain.

Do you ever suffer from pain when exercising? Does discomfort take away your enjoyment of getting moving? This is an important article that could make a world of difference to you.

...you want to exercise but it hurts too much when you try...

...you’re trying your best to exercise but you’re too seized up to get started...

Aches and pains slowing you down?

Have other treatments stopped working?

Hydrotherapy may be the answer.

It's a vicious cycle. you know exercise is part of the solution to your problem - but your painful problem makes it too hard to exercise. Which makes the problem worse!

You’ve tried all sorts of exercise but none of them are cutting the mustard. You’re too stiff to keep up, and it hurts to try some of those moves, so you give up.

The pain gets worse. your doctor and family still don’t think you exercise enough.

The surgeon said I need to lose weight and get stronger before they can operate to fix my problem. There's only so much my diet has helped. Help me get stronger so I can recover from my surgery quicker!

If you’ve ever wanted to move with less pain, then keep reading, these next three golden nuggets might just change your life...

You may even avoid surgery altogether. Most joint aches and problems are helped by weight loss and muscle strengthening.

Hydrotherapy is a fantastic way to exercise with less pain & effort and more enjoyment.

Without expensive and intimidating gym memberships. Away from the crowds. No need for fancy equipment.

Invest in your wellness. You can avoid the cost of your illness.

Movement in water is easier than on land due to the properties of buoyancy. Muscles can also work hard against water resistance. Khruakhorn and Chiwarakranon's study (2021) showed that land-based or water-based exercise increased functional mobility and quality of life for patients with knee osteoarthritis.

=> Ease of buoyancy, resistance of water - simple. No fancy or expensive gadgets are needed.

Even if you can’t swim, walking in water is fantastic exercise for sore, stiff and weak body parts. Simple and effective equipment can be added to your pool workout to make movement even easier (or more challenging!).

Does any of this relate to you? You’ll be glad to learn that we have developed hydrotherapy groups through EP Physio Plus.

We offer one on one sessions too, so you feel comfortable and confident in the water.

We can then help you develop a program you can continue in the pool by yourself.

That's why we offer hydrotherapy groups and individual sessions. You can enjoy supervised movement and relaxation in the water with your therapist.

Where is the pool?

We use a 1.2m-deep, heated pool at the Port Lincoln Leisure Centre.

Easy access: no steps or stairs - enter via ramp + handrail, and hoist or water wheelchair are available.

What do I need?
