Exercise Physiology Group.

A Following on from Exercise Right week in May, you may have seen our posts about the different reasons that people participate in exercise, whether that be to improve your mood & mental health, to improve muscular strength and endurance, or for the cardiovascular benefits. 


A common problem we see a lot of in the clinic is people struggling with motivation and establishing a regular routine with exercising. Lots of people know about the benefits of exercise, but just don’t know how or where to start.


Our Exercise Physiology Group sessions are great for people who need some extra support with their exercise, or to help stay accountable and motivated. Studies have shown that group exercise participants showed significant improvements in their mental health (12.6 percent), physical health (24.8 percent) and emotional (26 percent), as well as a 26.2 percent reduction in perceived stress levels.


What do the sessions involve? 

The sessions run for 60 minutes, and are supervised by one of our Exercise Physiologists. Each person has their own individualized exercise program that is specific to their goals - whether that be doing rehab from an injury, management of a chronic disease, or improving strength to be able to hit the golf ball further. When developing your exercise program we take into account your current abilities and things that you enjoy or don’t enjoy doing.


Throughout the sessions, our Exercise Physiologists can work in conjunction with your physiotherapist and assist you with progressions and modifications to the exercises to ensure you are exercising safely, but continue to achieve your goals. 


When do they run?

The Exercise Physiology Group runs every day - Monday and Tuesday at 9am, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 10am.

  • Social aspect - lots of people love the company while completing their exercises, and we love to celebrate people’s milestones and achievements!
  • Regular reviews to ensure you are progressing, seeing results and smashing your goals.
