Sonja Kerr

SENIOR PHYSIOTHERAPIST

I lived the first 30 years of my life in the south of Germany, where I studied and worked in private practice and rehabilitation centres. I came to Australia in 2012 with the plan to travel around this beautiful country and somehow I never left.

I recently moved to Port Lincoln with my husband and our two boys. We have been coming here every year for holidays and I just love the place.

My German life was filled with tennis, running, mountain biking and of course soccer. Since I came to Australia I have also played AFL and added Olympic weightlifting, CrossFit and trail running to my hobbies.

I have a special interest in bringing people back to exercise so they can enjoy being active again. Whether it is encouraging exercise during or post pregnancy or getting people back from an injury, there is always a safe option for everyone and almost never the need to stop moving.

I have treated a huge variety of injuries in my almost 20 years of being a physio and worked with different athletes. (AFL teams and state squads, swim squads, running and mountain biking groups, soccer teams, CrossFit and all the other weekend warriors).

In my free time I like to be active and outdoors with my family, playing sport, hiking and now we can add all the activities that the ocean has to offer on our to-do list.

***

Sonja has further postgraduate study and interest in:

  • Shoulder, knee and back injuries/complaints
  • Sport Physiotherapy
  • Dry Needling
  • Shoulder Rehabilitation
  • Women’s Health
  • Pilates
